Thoughts on the Effects of COVID-19

Events are not just opportunities to gather together in one large place. They’re a way for us to socialize in a way that makes us FEEL together. An opportunity to reflect on our successes, or look optimistically to the future and dream. For some of us, it's the dream of business growth and success. For others it is the joining of two families and the beginning of a new path and journey, with limitless possibility.

Technology can bring with it drawbacks, such as a false sense of progress and improvement. Just because a technology is new, doesn’t mean the ways of the past aren’t relevant. The collaborative feeling of being together in a space, dining and imbibing with friends and colleagues, networking and learning, is a special feeling that challenges us to do better. To give more. To sing along. To celebrate. What if we could do all these things, regardless of the landscape in the world around us that we may individually have no control over? The opportunity for change is an opportunity of a lifetime.

The most vulnerable populations in our society need compassionate, visionary people who can’t be restrained by the threats of today, because the future of these individuals’ tomorrows depends on it. Considering the needs of all will provide opportunity for many to experience life and connectedness to our society and humankind in a way that has never been imagined before. What if we could incorporate virtual reality to create a multi sensory experience that draws in the guest, wherever they may be. So that anyone, anywhere can truly be together? Let’s re-imagine the possibilities and leverage tech where it can be most useful. Not for the emphasis and sake of using technology, but for the focus on what matters: People and the whole-hearted purpose of togetherness.
